Hi There,

I hope all is well, wherever this message finds you.

The last month or so I’ve enjoyed an unlikely collection of gigs…

I played at a mate's wedding in Olinda, supported Jeff Beck at The Palais Theatre in St Kilda, performed at the Thornbury Theatre to wish Collard Greens & Gravy bon voyage as they headed to the US, played a couple of fun little solo gigs at The Drunken Poet, The Evelyn and the Oakeigh Bowls Club, played a horror film festival in Brisbane called Schlockfest with SALMON and covered for Michael Hubbard to play guitar with Downhills Home as he was on tour with Jen Cloher! And, of course, the wonderful Port Fairy Folk Festival as part of Broderick Smith's band

And I’ve been busy addressing unfinished business too…

Firstly, it’s great to have the Broderick Smith album completed! Unknown Country will be released on Liberation around May 15th. It may just put Brod’s music out into a new audience if all goes to plan. We played some shows at Port Fairy Folk Festival recently and it felt very strong…From the classic poignancy of God may not be with us to the violent assault of The Ring, the live show has a lot of scope. I look forward to seeing where it takes us.

Secondly, I’ve been setting up the newly renovated 8-Track Shack. My family is now pleased to know they won’t have to be evacuated whenever I have a recording project. The Shack is looking pretty classy (in a down-home fashion) and there’s a lot more room to work. if anyone is interested in laying down some songs or wants to talk about recording an album up here in the hills. Just drop me a line.

Dave Manton and I will be continuing our collaborations and look forward to any future recording projects. Details of the studio will be up on the website very soon.

The Duo will be playing shows at Apollo Bay Festival at the end of March and then we return to The Retreat Hotel for a Thursday night residency through April.

Other Duo news! Ashley and I are about to release a compilation album in Japan and hope to tour there soon. Here is a peek at some of the artwork.
